AmmoDyn 7.62x51mm NATO 149 Grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Brass

A: Yes, in almost every rifle. The two cartridges share external dimensions, and this load's 3,800 bar chamber pressure works out to about 55,100 psi — comfortably below the 62,000 psi SAAMI ceiling for commercial .308. The direction that gets you in trouble is the opposite one: hot commercial .308 fired through a worn NATO chamber. If your rifle is old or unfamiliar, verify headspace with a gunsmith before shooting it.

A: Port pressure is what actually cycles your gas gun. It's the pressure remaining in the barrel when the bullet passes the gas port. A load can hit its velocity number and still fail to run a semi-auto if that pressure curve falls off too fast. This one publishes a 550 bar minimum, which is your guarantee that it will cycle — a spec most commercial ammunition doesn't bother to disclose.

A: Brass, Boxer-primed, standard flash hole, non-corrosive primer. Fully compatible with your reloading press. Not the Berdan surplus that trips up most handloaders.

A: Yes. M80 Ball uses a Tombac (copper-zinc) jacket over lead — no steel anywhere in the projectile. ZSR's M62 tracer and M61 armor-piercing loads in the same caliber do use steel construction, but this is standard ball. Range house rules always win the argument, so ask.

A: 200 mm standard deviation at 550 meters — about 8 inches at 600 yards. That is a service-rifle accuracy standard, engineered around hitting people-sized targets at combat distance. It's a legitimate benchmark for training ammunition. It is not match-grade — if you're chasing groups on paper, buy a match load.

A: No — and in many states you can't legally. FMJ is engineered specifically not to expand. That means poor energy transfer and a real chance of losing a wounded animal. Grab an expanding soft point or bonded hunting load for the field and keep this ammunition for training.
